AC Installation in Burbank

Adding air conditioning to a home that never had it, or finishing an addition or ADU? We design the system around the house: load calculation, ducts, electrical and permit, then install Trane equipment and stand behind it for 10 years.

How a new AC installation works

1. Walk-through and load calculation

We look at the house, the attic or crawlspace, the electrical panel and where the outdoor unit can go. Then we run a Manual J load calculation to size the system.

2. Duct design

For ducted systems we lay out supply and return runs with a Manual D design so every room gets its share of air. Where ducts don't fit, ductless mini-splits are often the cleaner answer.

3. One all-in quote

Equipment, ductwork, electrical needed for the system, permit and labor, in one written price.

4. Installation and start-up

We install, seal, charge and test the system, walk you through the thermostat and register the warranty.

5. Permit close-out

California requires a permit and Title 24 HERS verification for new systems. We handle the permit and get it closed.

Additions, ADUs and remodels

Adding square footage or converting a garage changes the load on your HVAC. We work from your plans and Title 24 energy report so the equipment matches what the inspector expects to see.

FAQ

Questions Burbank homeowners ask

Still wondering about something? Call 818-654-4442.

What size AC unit do I need for my house?+

Square footage alone is not enough. Window area, insulation, ceiling height, sun exposure and ductwork all change the answer. We run a Manual J load calculation so the system is neither oversized (short cycling, humidity problems) nor undersized (can't keep up in August).

Can you add central air to a house that never had it?+

Usually, yes. Depending on the house we'll install new ducts in the attic or crawlspace, or recommend ductless mini-splits where ducts don't make sense. Either way the job is permitted and verified.

Is a heat pump or an AC with a gas furnace better?+

In Burbank's mild winters a heat pump handles both heating and cooling efficiently, and Burbank Water and Power offers a rebate when it replaces gas heating. If you'd rather keep gas heat, a high-efficiency AC paired with a furnace is still a solid option. We'll price both.
