BWP heat pump HVAC rebate amounts
As listed on BWP's Electrify Your Home page (checked October 2026):
- Standard: $1,000 per ton, up to $2,500
- Low-income residents (enrolled in BUSS or Lifeline): $1,000 per ton, up to $5,000
- Affordable housing providers: $1,000 per ton, up to $5,000
The same amounts are listed for ductless mini-split heat pumps. BWP also lists a $750 panel-upgrade incentive that can be claimed alongside an electrification rebate (not on its own).
Rebate programs change and funds can run out. Always confirm current terms with BWP before you buy.
What qualifies
- An existing Burbank home served by BWP. New construction doesn't qualify.
- The new heat pump must replace gas heating equipment.
- The work must be permitted and pass inspection by Burbank Building & Safety.
Documents BWP asks for
- The signed application and a W-9 for whoever receives the rebate.
- An itemized invoice with the contractor's name, phone and license number, the install address, and equipment make and model.
- A copy of the finaled permit.
- A "before" photo of the gas equipment being replaced and nameplate photos of the new equipment.
When we install your heat pump, we put together the invoice, permit and photos in the format BWP asks for, so the application is ready to send.
